Team Chat

Send messages, create channels, and collaborate with your team inside MeetMatch.

1Getting to the chat

Click Chat in the top navigation bar. The chat page has three panels:
  • Channel list (left) — browse and search your channels.
  • Message thread (center) — read and send messages.
  • Members panel (right, optional) — see who is in the current channel.
A green badge on the Chat link shows your total unread message count across all channels.

2Channel types

MeetMatch supports three channel types:
  • #General (company-wide) — every active member of your organization can see and post in this channel. Created automatically when your team completes onboarding.
  • Group channels — invite-only channels for specific teams, projects, or topics. Only members added to the channel can see its messages.
  • Direct messages — private one-on-one conversations between two people.

3Creating a channel

Click the + button in the sidebar header to create a new channel. Give it a name, an optional description, and select the members you want to invite. You can also link a channel to an existing team group so the membership stays in sync.

4Sending messages and replies

Type in the composer at the bottom of the message thread and press Enter (or click the send button) to post. To reply to a specific message, hover over it and click the reply icon — your message will appear as a threaded reply with a preview of the original.

5Muting channels

If a channel is too noisy, click the speaker icon in the channel header to mute it. Muted channels will not send you push notifications or email digests. Click it again to unmute.

6Managing members

Click the people icon in the channel header to open the members panel. From there you can add new members or remove existing ones. Only the channel creator or an admin can remove other people.
